Achievement of Indian Muaythai athletes in IFMA Royal World Cup-2015
We are happy to inform you that Muaythai India (MTI) National Federation, member of IFMA and FAMA participated at IFMA Royal World Cup-2015 which was held from 13-23rd August 2015 at Bangkok. The event had the patronage of Royal Crown Prince of Thailand.
The Championship commenced with a grand opening ceremony in which athletes and officials from 103 countries participated. Officials from FISU, TAFISA, International World Games Association, OCA, Sports Accord, Peace and Sport and UNITE graced the occasion. With this the sport of Muaythai took a giant leap towards becoming an Olympic sport with IFMA as the Official governing body for the sport of Muaythai in The Sport Accord under the International Olympic Committee.
Muay Thai India (MTI) President Mr. M.H Abid, Chairman Mr. K.V.R Tagore and Secretary General Dr.H G Daddi attended the IFMA AGM on 19th August 2015.
On 22nd Aug, the National team was proud to be a part of IFMA social initiative- Sport Is Your Gang (SIYG) which is well known among the IFMA community. This initiative is directed towards the less fortunate kids who can benefit by getting subsidized and free training in the sport of Muaythai.
Muay Thai India (MTI) is proud to announce that the following three athletes of the National Muaythai Team that represented India in The Royal World Cup – 2015 held in Thailand have been successful in achieving One silver and Two bronze medals while competing against participants from 103 countries and have thus brought honour to India.
